11 days to go…
January 5, 2009
I am getting ready to take a trip out to Death Valley National Park. I’m a little nervous, mostly about scorpions and rattlesnakes crawling into unoccupied shoes or hiding in the foot of my sleeping bag, but I am mostly excited. I have never gone on a hiking trip but I am thrilled to go. I think it’s going to be a great experience, and some unique and beautiful landscape to explore.
New calendar picture…
April 1, 2008
I have a calendar from Hawaii. The girl who shares my work space has a calendar from Hawaii as well. The calendar marks all the usual holidays but also includes day important to Hawaii culture in the month of April. However, there are no days of significant Hawaiian culture. However, one of our coworkers has an upcoming birthday that is shared with King Kamehameha, celebrated in June (a statue of King Kamehameha stands in Honolulu – see picture.
Meanwhile, I’ll just enjoy the beautiful Lumaha’i Beach scene that graces the month of April.
